helping searching people discover new life in Christ

It's OK to be Searching

We do not claim to have all the answers. Actually, we believe that faith has a lot more to do with asking the right questions. So… come and search with us as we try, and discover a life of faith together.

So just what can you expect to find at Discovery?

  • Expect a relaxed atmosphere where you can come as you are.
  • Expect a place where it’s OK to be ‘searching.’ We welcome enthusiastically ‘skeptical questioners’ because we do not claim to have all the answers. What we do know for sure is that God is already at work in our lives and our job is to help each other see Jesus.
  • Expect a version of Jesus that may be a little different from what you are used to! The Jesus of scripture was an extremely dynamic individual. He got angry, he cried, and yelled at people! He deeply loved his friends and got involved in their lives. Even though he could have spent his time with the ‘good, proper people’ of his day, he chose to spend it with tax collectors and sinners! He had a hard time with the religious institutions of his own day and found it absolutely impossible to remain detached from the problems of a hurting world.
  • Expect a celebration.  The music is alive, heart-felt, and meaningful. The sermons are straightforward and relevant. We frequently include drama, dance, images, and other art forms in our worship gatherings.
  • Expect to be welcomed, but not overwhelmed. We believe that people need to discover God at their own pace. If you do wish to speak to one of our ministers, simple indicate that you would like to be contacted on your registration card.
  • Expect to change! Even though God accepts us just as we are, he refuses to leave us that way. Because he desires that, we become all that he created us to be, he calls us to a life of continual growth, to deeper, fuller living as our hearts, minds, and wills are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.
